Both trek start before dawn (in order to watch the sunrise from the Volcanoes) either from Ubud (with an hour bus transfert to get to the village starting point), either from the villages itself where you will have spent the night and rised at 4am. Toyabungkah is the village to get to the Mount Batur - 1717 m in the middle of a caldera 14km wide with a splendid lake filling half of it (the lake is at 1050 m above sea level and Toyabungkah is situated on the its shores). The whole trek will take between $ and 5 hours. The villages of Iseh, Sideman or Selat are situated near the hiking trail to walk the Mount Agung. The best side to the Mount Agung is its southern flank starting the hike in the Pura Pasar Agung - less steepy, the whole trek will take between 6 and 7 hours.
